Thank you to all patients for supporting Goliad Health & Wellness and trusting us with your healthcare needs.  Dr. Mary Margaret Ara and Dr. Elizabeth Garza had a lifelong dream to open up a medical private practice in their hometown of Goliad, Texas. Rising healthcare costs in operating a rural private practice and lower than anticipated patient volume has made it economically nonviable to continue to provide care in this clinic setting.

Goliad Health & Wellness (this facility) will close effective August 28, 2026.  Dr. Mary Margaret Ara and Dr. Elizabeth Garza will no longer be available to provide medical care or treatment from this facility after August 28, 2026.  We will continue to see patients until that date.

Because your ongoing health and medical care are very important, we strongly suggest that you find a new primary care physician as soon as possible.

Transferring Your Medical Records

Your medical records are strictly confidential. A copy of your medical file can be transferred to your new physician or sent directly to you with your written permission.

• Before August 28, 2026, please fill out, sign, and return the provided Medical Record Release Form to our office so we can forward your records to your new doctor free of charge.  The office phone number through August 28, 2026, remains 361-645-7777.
• After August 28, 2026, your records will be securely stored and managed by Sahara Medical Consulting, PLLC, located at P. O. Box 6844; Corpus Christi, Texas, 78466 and reachable at 361-882-3133.  Please note that future requests made through the record custodian may incur a retrieval fee permitted by state law.
